'Make Babar the batting coach...': Former Pakistan cricketer slams PCB for mess in coaching staff ahead of Bangladesh series
PCB criticised for handling of coaching staff
Former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed has criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for its handling of the coaching staff ahead of the upcoming Bangladesh series.
Ahmed, who played 25 Tests and 50 One-Day Internationals for Pakistan, said that the PCB has made a mess of the coaching staff and that it is now up to captain Babar Azam to take charge.
“The PCB has made a mess of the coaching staff,” Ahmed said. “They have appointed too many coaches and they are all pulling in different directions. It’s up to Babar Azam to take charge now and to be the batting coach as well as the captain.”
PCB defends coaching staff
The PCB has defended its handling of the coaching staff, saying that it is confident that the team is in good hands.
“We are confident that the coaching staff we have in place is the best possible team to help Pakistan win the Bangladesh series,” a PCB spokesperson said.
“We have a wealth of experience and expertise in the coaching staff, and we are confident that they can help the team to achieve its goals.”
Pakistan to tour Bangladesh in November
Pakistan is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in November for two Tests and three Twenty20 Internationals.
The tour will be Pakistan’s first since they were defeated by England in the final of the T20 World Cup in Australia in November 2022.
Pakistan will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat in the T20 World Cup and to start their preparations for the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India.
