Odorless Gas

Methane, Carbon Monoxide, and Inert Gases

Methane

Methane is a colourless, odourless gas that occurs abundantly in nature. It is also a product of certain human activities, such as the decomposition of organic matter and the burning of fossil fuels. Methane is the simplest member of the paraffin series of hydrocarbons, and it is the main component of natural gas.

Carbon Monoxide

Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless, and tasteless gas that is produced by the incomplete combustion of carbon-containing fuels. It is a toxic gas that can cause death if inhaled in high concentrations. Carbon monoxide is a major air pollutant, and it is emitted by vehicles, power plants, and other industrial sources.

Inert Gases

The noble gases are a group of elements that are all colourless, odourless, and monatomic gases. They are all very unreactive, and they have very low boiling points. The noble gases include helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon.
