WEB Pensburgh's annual list of the top 25 young players in the Penguins organization welcomes a new face this year: Isaac Belliveau. The 20-year-old defenseman, selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, makes his debut on the list at number 23.
Belliveau has impressed in his two seasons with the Penguins' AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. In 2022-23, he recorded 3 goals and 14 assists in 68 games, demonstrating his offensive potential. His defensive play has also been solid, as he has shown good positioning and a physical presence in the corners.
As Belliveau continues to develop, he will look to take on a larger role with the Penguins. He has the potential to be a top-four defenseman in the NHL, with his puck-moving abilities and defensive acumen.
